Christian Science Monitor Article on Koran Desecration

What started as a short blog entry has blossomed into a full op-ed piece. I'm grateful to say it will be published in the May 25, 2005 Christian Science Monitor, one of my all-time favorite newspapers, which I coincidentally did a study on at NU.

The article is up now on the on-line edition. You may read it here. (al-hamdulillah)

You rock, dude. Awesome, reflective piece.

It reminded me of how I got my first Bible (Actually, just the New Testament) - from a born-again with whom I spent a year studying Arabic in Arabland.

He had mentioned wanting to read the Qur'an, so I found him an English-Arabic version (Yusuf Ali); afterwards, I mentioned that I was curious about how the Bible looked in Arabic. The next week, there was "Kitab al-Hayat" on my desk, also in English and Arabic (with the words Jesus spoke in red, of course).

Wow! Good story, Abuljude, about Kitab. I have seen it before (with the red). Finally, I've always wanted to "rock" ever since my Led Zeppelin days.
