Born and raised in Chicago and its environs, Ibrahim Abusharif, PhD, is a professor in the journalism and strategic communication program at Northwestern University in Qatar. His research interests include the intersection of media and culture; digital media and religious authority; literary journalism; media in the Arab world; and religion and media. He is also a journalist and a writer of non-fiction and fiction. His articles have appeared in numerous newspapers and magazines, both print and online. He has also worked closely on translation projects of the Quran. He has a masters in journalism and doctorate in religious and Islamic studies. How nice of them to take interest in your work. My cats can't even bother to get off the bed in cold weather like this.
As I write this now, Mishmish is sound asleep in my lap. I liked it better when they were on the shelf. Every time I see a cat sleeping, I get soooo sleepy. No kidding. I can't help it, no matter how rested I am. Well, nice to hear from you, Pete. Hope you're doing well.

If I had a penny for every time I heard "mish mishmish" I'd have . . . about a dime. Still, it's mish mishikla.
