Study on American Religion

My brief analysis of a recent Baylor University study on American religion is posted at The Revealer. Here is an excerpt: I was very disappointed to see that the Muslim presence in America was reduced to anonymity, some nondescript part of the "other" in a pie chart. The word "Muslim" appears on a few other pages, as in a questionnaire asking whether or not a Muslim (among a list of candidates, like racists, atheists, and homosexuals) “should be allowed to teach at a high school.”

I learned of the study via The Revealer website. Author S. Brent Plate offers some words on the study. You can download the study and read it for yourself.

Very good letter, addressing an important issue.

I think the media also plays a large part in trying to downplay Muslims in American society.

They want to make us look strange and foreign, as I guess this survey did, although it may not have been intentional.

You have a nice blog. Will be back in the future.

Salaam
